Unconditional love has been on my mind the past two days. Worldly love often comes with conditions that, when aren’t met, it shuts off like a switch. God’s love is unconditional. You see, it doesn’t matter where you’ve been in life or what you’ve done, He still loves you. He loved you from the beginning of time. He loved you when He formed you in your mother’s womb. He loved you enough to send his only son to die on a cross to cover your sins. He loves you enough to forgive you for your sins, to move in you, and to change your life. How many other people in your world would be willing to do all that for you? If you’re truthful, you answered ‘none.’
Lots of people think they have to be perfect or have their life in order before accepting Christ, but that’s not the case. He’s not seeking perfection because perfection here on Earth is unattainable. What He’s seeking is a willing heart! He loves everyone and doesn’t put conditions on that love. He doesn’t expect you to have your life right before you approach Him. In fact, when you do seek Him is truly when your life begins.
There’s so much more to a life in Christ than can be covered in one blog post. He is so good in every way. I pray if you’ve run across this and don’t know Christ, you’ll consider the things I’ve written and research for yourself. Talk to a local Pastor or Christian friend. For now though, here’s your starting point and it’s as easy as A.B.C.
A – Admit that you’re a sinner and ask Him for forgiveness. Repent and turn away from sin.
Romans 3:10 “There is no one righteous, not even one”
Romans 6:23 “The wages of sin is death”
Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
B – Believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again as payment for your sins.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
C – Confess that Jesus Christ is your Savior. Share your decision with others and speak to a Pastor.
Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
A true Christian will tell you that they aren’t perfect and that they NEED JESUS EVERY DAY! Again, what I’ve written here is only a beginning so I encourage you to talk to a Pastor and study the word! Be blessed!
Numbers 6:24-26 “The Lord bless you and keep you;25 the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
