Seeking Him

When life throws curve balls at you, you sometimes have to reassess and regroup. In the fall, that’s exactly what my family and I had happen. We were in a deep valley and God was the only one who was going to bring us out. Sometimes you have to be completely broken to get your priorities straight. He knew that our lives needed to be shaken up a bit so that our faith could be stirred. And, I’m telling you – it worked.

Walking through that valley taught me so much and I gained a new appreciation for God and His power. Recently our church participated in a fast and during the fast we all read a chapter of John each day. I had never read scripture like that before. It was almost as if I felt anxiety in my spirit while reading the series of events leading up to the crucifixion. Sadly before, I had never felt that and I was overwhelmed with a new appreciation of what Jesus had done for me.

When I began the fast I was shown 1 Chronicles 22:19, “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God…” I went full force into the fast with this verse in mind and had intentions of seeking more of God than I had ever known. He didn’t let me down. He began to show me things. With that, I began to crave more. I can’t even begin to explain the revival I’ve had in my heart or the things I’ve had happen over the past few months that confirmed, once again, that God hears my prayers.

So I have to ask; what are you seeking? Is it worldly things or is it God? Are you seeking to know who God is and about how much he cares for you? Are you seeking to know about His goodness, His grace, His mercy and His power?

I am, and your prayers are appreciated as I continue on this journey.

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Hebrews 55:6-7 “Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near”

Proverbs 8:17 “I love those who love me; And those who diligently seek me will find me.”

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
