Yesterday I was speaking with a friend who was preparing for an important meeting. She was commenting on how this wasn’t done, how that wasn’t fixed and she was tough on herself about her appearance. I reminded her that she is “fearfully and wonderfully” made.
What happened yesterday reminded me of this, that I actually wrote four years ago. I wanted to share it with whoever happens upon this.
Have you ever stopped and let “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” totally sink in? Personally, I’m learning to and it’s taken me about 20 years to get to that point. Society has a way of making women and men not feel good about themselves if they aren’t a size 4, ripped with muscles, and have perfect features. Ladies, it doesn’t matter if you’re curvy or if you’re totally opposite and very thin. Men, it doesn’t matter if you’re built like a celebrity or you aren’t.
Who decided what society’s idea of beauty was anyway?!
We all have different features and characteristics. God made us that way for a reason. If we all looked just alike, it’d be a pretty boring place. It may sound cliche, but what truly matters really IS what’s on the inside.
If you have a loving, beautiful heart, it shows and the beauty automatically flows to the outside. Ask any people watcher and they’ll tell you that. So, the next time you start finding flaws about yourself and letting satan tell you that you aren’t a beautiful person because you aren’t on the cover of a magazine; remember that God loves you, He made you just the way He WANTED you to be and HE MAKES NO MISTAKES. You are beautiful! Let your heart be seen in everything you do!
Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
