Making Plans

How many times a day do we make plans or plan for our future? How many times do our plans get sidetracked?

How many times a day do we try to take control?

For me, it happens on an average of every five seconds because by nature I’m a control freak and my own worst enemy. With age, I’d like to think I’m getting better with this, but I’m sure those who know me well would beg to differ.

Trying to remember God has a PLAN is hard, especially when you’re walking through a valley and in a wait. However, I’m quickly reminded that his thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways.

His plan is to prosper us and not to harm us. He gives us hope and a future. He has it all under control and works everything out according to His will, not our wants.

If we’re in the middle of His will then we’re right where we’re supposed to be and everything will work out in our best interest.

So, while I continue to be reminded I have NO control, I will continue to trust in the Lord with all my heart because He always has a plan and it’s always better than mine!

Proverbs 16:9 In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.

Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

We can make plans all day long, but the Lord determines our steps and his will for us always prevails.1
